Welcome to GG Translator! These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the GG Translator app ("App"), provided by GG Translator ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

The App allows you to record your voice, transcribe the recording, rephrase the transcript, and then use a text-to-speech function to create a new audio file. The App is designed to store all data locally on your device. The only time data leaves your device is when making requests to OpenAI for text-to-speech functionalities.

2. Privacy and Data Handling

• Data Collection: The App collects audio snippets as part of its core functionality. No other personal information is collected or used.
• Data Usage: The collected data (audio snippets) is used solely for the purpose of providing the App's services, including transcription and text-to-speech conversion.
• Data Storage: All data is stored locally on your device. We do not access, sell, or share any personal data.
• Data Transfer: The only instance where data is transferred from your device is when the App communicates with OpenAI's API for text-to-speech services. We encourage you to review OpenAI's terms of service and privacy policy to understand how they handle your data.

3. User Responsibilities

• OpenAI API Key: You are required to supply your own OpenAI API key to use the App. You are responsible for any costs associated with the use of OpenAI's services and must comply with OpenAI's terms of service.
• Lawful Use: You agree to use the App lawfully and not to use the App for any illegal purposes, including but not limited to copyright infringement, invasion of privacy, or the distribution of malicious software.

4. Intellectual Property

The App and all related elements, including software, logos, and trademarks, are the property of GG Translator and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of Liability

GG Translator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

7. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App after such modifications signifies your acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the state of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
